China-Europe freight train operation updates (Week 27))

Date of release:2023-07-10 Author: Click:

In the 27th week, the China-Europe freight train ran smoothly, and the operation of all ports was good. The average time for trans-shipment in Alashankou and Khorgos is 7 days, and the longest waiting time is less than 15 days; The average handling time in Manzhouli is 11 days; The fastest reloading for Erenhot is 3-5 days, where the  efficiency improved by 50% compared to 3 weeks ago.

The supply of spaces and freight rates for each route are as follows:

European route:

West bound: The supply and demand are generally balanced, and the spaces at the major platform are still available in early July. In general, the freight rate fluctuates narrowly.

East bound: Spaces at returned trains are relatively tight. Lodz, Mala, Milan and Tilburg all dispatched return trains to Chengdu, but the number is limited. There are three trains from Duisburg, Hamburg and Mala to Nanjing every week in July; The trains to Chongqing also run every week; The trains to Wuhan run two times a week, with stable departures as well.

Russian route: The overall supply and demand is stable, and the supply ofspaces is relatively sufficient. Currently, most spaces at platforms are arranged after the 15th of July, and only a few still have surplus positions around the 10th. Overall, there are fluctuations in booking prices, with spot freight rates mainly affected by container leasing prices, with an increase of around 5%. Industry insiders predict that the supply in South China will be slightly tightened in early July, when the terminals such as Datian may rise by 10%. Once the news is confirmed, all platforms in South China may raise their prices as well. The plan for trains traveling via Manzhouli has been cut, and it is said that there are more than ten trains stranding at the station at this moment.

Central Asia route: The volume of goods shipped to Central Asia has decreased this week, resulting in a market downturn and oversupply of spaces at the stations. The ordering prices at platforms such as Zhengzhou and Jinhua have been lowered by 3000 yuan. Due to the shortage of goods and abundant supply in spaces, there are often special price released in the market.
