On 3rd July, the world’s second largest shipping lines Maersk announced to raise the freight rate to 1025-1050 usd per 20’contain er and to 1900-1950 usd per 40’container, with increases over 30% and 50% respectively. The adjustment will be implemented from 31st July and applies for routes from major Asian ports to Northern Europe ports including the most busy container terminal of Rotterdam.
In addition, Maersk also increased the freight rate to Australia. CMA CGM followed MSK to raise the freight rate of Europe-bound route. (both Maersk Line and CMA CGM have announced higher FAK rates for Asia to various destinations worldwide)
