In the 9th week, the China-Europe freight train operated smoothly, the efficiency of reloading at the four major boarder ports has improved significantly, and the congestion at Erenhot port has eased, and the handling time is about 5-7 days. The delay at the departure stations has been relieved to a certain extent. The punctuality of departure was generally guaranteed in Wuhan, Hefei, Xi’an, Guiyang and Ganzhou. Majority of fixed scheduled trains could be departed according to the plan, only a few trains were delayed for 2-3 days due to the shortage of wagons. In the direction of outbound to Russia, the average transit time from Zengcheng, Guiyang, Chengdu and other stations to Moscow is 12-15 days, and the average transit time from Xi’an to Electrougli is 13 days. In terms of WB to Europe, the average transit time from Chengdu, Xi’an, Chongqing, Yiwu, Changsha etc. to Hamburg and Duisburg is about 23 days.
Recently, the spaces from major block train operators such as Xi’an, Chengdu and Chongqing have been booked out till late March and early April. Some operators cancelled abundant plans of customized trains for European route, the price generally maintained the same as last week. Comparing with the situation in January, the Russian market softened, and there were some void spaces on part of trains.
Spot market price fell by $200-300. In terms of Central Asia route (Zhengzhou / Xi’an platform), the market demand is booming, most spaces have sold out until the end of March, freight price floating at the high level, said by freight forwarders.
