Suez Canal To Increase Transit Tariff Again

The Suez Canal is going to increase its fee again. The Suez Canal Authority of Egypt released a statement on the 16th, stating that starting from January 15, 2024, tariff for ships passing through the Suez Canal will be raised.

 

According to the statement, starting from January 15th next year, transit tariff for tankers of crude oil, refined oil, LPG, LNG, chemical, and other liquid bulk products, container ships, vehicle carriers, cruise ships, and special floating facilities will increase by 15%. The fees for dry bulk carriers, general cargo ships, roll-on/roll-off ships, and other vessels will increase by 5%.

 

At the same time, the statement mentioned that container ships sailing directly from Northern European and Western European ports to Far Eastern ports will be exempted from the new round of price increases.
