Imported Vehicles Declines Sharply In Russian Far East Port Last Week

In July this year, the Japanese government announced further sanctions to prohibit the export of new and used cars and diesel vehicles with an engine displacement exceeding 1.9 liters to Russia, as well as all hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles. This measure officially took effect on August 9th.

 

According to customs data from Vladivostok Customs in Russia, the number of registered imported cars significantly decreased after August 9th, with a weekly decline of 57% and a decrease number of over 3,000 compared to the previous week.

 

The Customs Office reported the number of registered imported passenger cars, which was 7,154 vehicles from August 2nd to 8th, and nonly 4,118 vehicles from August 9th to August 15th.
