Russian Railways, it subsidiaries RZD Logistics, RZD Business Assets and Bely Rast transport and logistics center, and Russian Export Center as the key partner have launched a LCL service between Russia and China to serve b2b trade, RZD Logistics said in a statement.
Trains run on a regular schedule, the first train started from Bely Rast on August 7. RZD Logistics consolidates cargo from Russia’s Northwest, Central and Volga regions and provides customer service, while RZD Business Asset sells the service and provides the rolling stock.
Both LCL and FCL cargo is accepted. On the return trip, the train will carry imports from China. According to Russian Railways, there is a demand on the part of smaller and medium businesses in the B2B segment for LCL shipments.
