China-Europe freight train operation updates (Week 31)

Alashankou has always been efficient, with an average handling time of 3 days; The average transshipment of Khorgos is 7 days; and that in Manzhouli is 8 days. For the Russia-bound routes, the overall T/T of trains passing through Alashankou is about 12-15 days; that leaving through Khorgos is about 15-19 days; through Manzhouli is about 19-24 days. The European-bound routes have always been stable - the overall transit time from domestic stations to Mala is about 12-15 days, to Duisburg is about 20-22 days, and to Italy is about 23-24 days.  

 

The supply of spaces and freight rates for each route are as follows:

 

European route:

The supply and demand is stable, with sufficient reserved spaces in early August, and there is little fluctuation in booking prices at platforms. There are signs of a rebound in freight demand in late August which may lead to a slight increase in spot freight rates at that time. 

 

Russian route: The demand has not improved, and the supply of spaces is relatively sufficient. Chengdu platform has significantly lowered its booking prices by about 15%,while those at other terminals have not fluctuated much, and the spot t freight rates continued to decline.

 

Central Asia route: The supply of Spaces exceeds demand, and various platforms have made adjustments to prices. This week, the price of Xi'an dropped significantly. Xi'an- Almaty dropped about 20%, and Xi'an -Tashkent lowered by 9%. With the reduction in Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Ganzhou, Hefei, and Jinhua have adjusted their booking prices one after another,  ranging from 6% to 20%.
