According to the Japanese media “Yomiuri Shimbun”, the Japanese government plans to further ban the export of diesel and gasoline light vehicles to Russia within the framework of restrictions under the Ukraine-Russia conflicts, including used cars with engine displacement over 1.9 liters, as well as hybrid and electric cars.
In April last year, Japan had prohibited the export of vehicles worth over 600 million yen. The new restriction policy is expected to be approved by Japanese cabinet in July and may come into effect in August. As per the date of Russia customs, the amount of used vehicles which imported via Vladivostok hit the new record, with approximate 80% of them were from Japan.
