Container Traffic via Russian Far Eastern Ports Up 34%

As of June 14, container traffic via the Far Eastern port grew 34% year-on-year, and last year it was also growing. Notably, in the Northwest we see the same 34% of decline. So, the container flows moved from West to East.

 

During the five and a half months of this year the customs authorities in the Russian Far East cleared 529 thousand containers, which is a record breaking figure.

 

The shipping segment is pivotal in terms of export and import operations. In the Far East, out of the 92 million tons that crossed the border, 72 million tons was shipped by sea.
