An express intermodal service aims to connect Hong Kong and Moscow via Shenzhen in 10 days. The service was launched on 8 June, and it follows the route via the Manzhouli border crossing to enter Russia before reaching Vorsino railway station near Moscow.
Cargo transport mostly includes high-value products such as high-end electronics and e-commerce. The service designed to transport products from the Great Bay area (Macau, Hong Kong, and Canton province) to Russia is not new since it was initially launched in July 2021. However, the 10-day transit time is a new addition since it reduces the trip duration by four days.
The train to Moscow leaves from Shenzhen, right next to Hong Kong. As a result, cargo from Hong Kong will reach Shenzhen either by rail or truck and tranship there before leaving for Russia.
