China-Europe freight train operation updates (Week 22)

In the 22nd week, the overall operation of the China-Europe freight train was stable. The efficiency of handling at border ports changed slightly this week: the average trans-loading time at Alashankou was 5-7 days, that at Khorgos and Manzhouli was 7-10 days, and that at Erenhot did not improve significantly - which was maintained at more than 2 weeks.

The supply of spaces and freight rates for each route are as follows:

European route:The overall demand for transportation is stable, and the booking prices at most platforms are stable. Among them, the departure of customized trains in Chengdu is stable, with prices at a lower level, where the supply of spaces is still available in mid to late June . The booking prices at Yiwu have shown a competitive advantage in the East China after a strong decline last week, with the spaces sufficient after June 10th; The supply of spaces at Xi'an Free Trade Port is slightly tight, open after June 20th.

Russian route: The overall market volume is insufficient, and the supply of spaces exceeds demand. The spot freight rates fluctuate at low prices, and the booking prices for some platforms' customized trains remain in the range of $3000- $4000. However, according to feedback from industry insiders, there is fewer low price pick-up in markets this week , and inquiries have been more active than the previous week. At the same time,  volume of goods in East China has shown an upward trend, with potential increases in price in the future.

Central Asia route: The Central Asian market shows signs of recovery after the adjustment in the past two weeks, with a slight increase in market volume. Previously, Xi'an and Zhengzhou rail platform  lowered their prices by more than ten thousand yuan, attracting some volumes of goods. At present, the spaces in both cities have been basically sold out in June, and many departure stations have lifted their plans for Central Asian services.
